The Roman Catholic branch church Obergail is located in Obergail in the Lesachtal municipality in the Hermagor district in Carinthia . The branch church of the Liesing parish church , consecrated to St. Anne , belongs to the Kötschach deanery in the Gurk-Klagenfurt diocese .

architecture

The three-axis, late baroque building, built around 1800, has a semicircular end and a roof turret in the west. The composite arched windows were re-glazed in 1941/42. The church is entered through a basket arch portal in the west. In the west of the flat-roofed hall with a drawn-in, flat triumphal arch, there is a wooden gallery on wooden pillars. The wall paintings date from the time it was built (1800). Holy New Year's Eve can be seen on the ceiling in the nave, decorated with acanthus , and the Annunciation to Mary in the chancel.

Furnishing

The rear wall of the main altar is made up of a painted canopy architecture depicting the Teaching of the Virgin Mary . The late baroque altar with sacrificial portals was built at the beginning of the 19th century. The statuettes of Saints Joseph and John the Baptist are placed on the altar, and those of the princes of the apostles Peter and Paul above the sacrificial passages .

The pictures of the side altars from the time of the main altar show a renewed Lourdes Madonna on the left and the stigmatization of St. Francis of Assisi on the right .
