Reading stage on Brussels Square

The reading stage at Brusselser Platz was a typical reading stage in Cologne . It was founded by the authors Adrian Kasnitz , Enno Stahl and Achim Wagner and took place for the first time in March 2005. Reading took place every third Thursday of the month, initially until October 2007 in the Nyland Foundation , after which it has been in the Hallmackenreuther pub since November 2007, both located on Brussels Square . From November 2008 to February 2009 the series was continued under the title "Lesebühne im Elektra" in the music bar Elektra, and since March 2009 under the title "Lesebühne Köln" in the rocket club. In addition to Enno Stahl, the author Thomas Krüger was co-organizer of the series from June 2010 onwards in the Alte Feuerwache , Altstadt-Nord. It took place for the last time in February 2011.

In addition to a trunk of authors from the Cologne area, authors from all over the German-speaking area are invited. "Non-commercial, high-quality literary approaches" are taken into account.

Projects

Within the reading series, publishers from North Rhine-Westphalia were presented at individual dates (2006/2007). This project was funded by the SK Stiftung Kultur Köln. For example, Pendragon Verlag (Bielefeld) in March 2006, Horlemann Verlag (Bad Honnef) in April , Rimbaud Verlag (Aachen) in September and Tisch 7 (Cologne) in March 2007 . 2010–2011 followed the “Young Voices” series, in which successful young poets were introduced, such as Ann Cotten, Steffen Popp, Björn Kuhligk and Monika Rinck.
