Nyland Foundation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nyland Foundation is a legal literary foundation based in Cologne .

In 1955, the Rhenish - Westphalian writer Josef Winckler founded the Nyland Foundation, which received its legal capacity in 1957 and has managed, among other things, his literary estate since Winckler's death. The statutes drawn up by Winckler in 1955 also describe the tasks of the Nyland Foundation

  • Publication of the works of the founder
  • Publication of the "works of the Nyland poets and their related authors"
  • Creation of an archive of the Nyland poets

The promotion of literature anchored in the statutes relates mainly to a group of Rhenish-Westphalian authors who are closely connected to the Association of Workers on House Nyland (1912–1925).

Funding includes the printing and publishing supervision of individual books, the approval of printing grants of various amounts and book donations to libraries.

Projects that are not directly related to the statutes are not funded. A regional Rhenish or Westphalian connection must also be given, and only literature projects can benefit from funding. The full Board of Directors decides on the allocation of funds at its annual meeting on the basis of applications.
