Stan Lafleur (also stan lafleur ; actually Thomas Mittler ; born February 16, 1968 in Karlsruhe ) is a German author and spoken word performer . He lives as a freelance writer and journalist in Cologne .

Life

Lafleur studied German , media studies , English , Romance studies and African studies at the Universities of Düsseldorf and Cologne (without an academic degree). From the beginning of the 1990s he appeared in both cities as an author, literary organizer (e.g. Sprechecke in Kölner Stadtgarten , since 1997) and publisher (including the magazine elektropansen , 1994 to 1998). Lafleur organized numerous conventional and extraordinary literary events in Düsseldorf (1992 to 1994) and Cologne (1994 to today)

In August 2001, together with the Cologne writers Achim Wagner and Enno Stahl, he founded the Rheinische Brigade , a free association of Rhenish authors, which set itself the goal of "reviving the author in the classical role as a politically and socially active subject".

Lafleur's texts have appeared in numerous German and international newspapers, magazines, anthologies (including Der Große Conrady ) and internet publications as well as in the context of exhibitions (e.g. lyric installations) and in several individual volumes. He is a member of the Internet literature project Forum der 13 and, since April 2005, has worked on the interdisciplinary real-time research project of the Cologne musician Matthias Mainz .
