Thomas Krüger (born July 28, 1962 in Löhne ) is a German poet and children's book author and was program manager for audio books at Random House Audio and Patmos-Verlag in Düsseldorf. He has been an independent audio book publisher since 2006 and children's book publisher since 2011.

Life

Thomas Krüger initially worked as a freelance journalist , among others for the newspapers Die Woche , Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Frankfurter Rundschau as well as for the magazines Rolling Stone and Mare . Krüger was also editor-in-chief and later publisher of the Hörwelt magazine . In 2007 he founded the Schall und Wahn publishing house , which, in addition to classics such as Grimmelshausen , Dickens and Poe , also publishes texts by Terry Pratchett , Stieg Larsson , Sergej Lukianenko and Serhij Zhadan .

After numerous publications in relevant literary magazines such as Akzente , Sinn und Form , neue deutsche literature and Die Horen , he published the volume of poetry Michelangelo rising in 2003 . In 2004, the satirical long poem Alarm auf Planet M. followed , a science fiction epic in terzines, a stanza form most recently used by Johann Heinrich Voss in the early 19th century . In 2006 Im Grübelschilf appeared , which among other things contains a sonnet network as a lyrical innovation , an art form that further develops the conventional sonnet wreath. As a children's book author, Thomas Krüger published Rufus and the secret of the white elephants in 2004, How Kaiser Franz invented the football game in 2006, The city of flying teapots in 2007, and the radio play Pom the Bear and his friends in the circus in 2008. At the end of 2011, he founded the children's book publisher Lausbuch . Under the pseudonym Pinkus Tulim he published the children's book Jo Raketen-Po at Lausbuch in collaboration with the Cologne illustrator Anton Riedel . In October 2013 he started his Ostwestfalen crime series about Erwin Düsedieker and the duck Lothar with Erwin, Mord und Ente . In November 2014 the sequel Duck Blues was released . In 2015, 2016 and 2017, in cooperation with Anton Riedel, the adventures of the Drei Superbrillen were released , in which three boys, equipped with all kinds of high-tech frills, experience daring, fast-paced adventures. Another volume of poetry with a sonnet network was published in 2017.

Thomas Krüger lives in Bergisch Gladbach near Cologne .

writing style

On the one hand, Krüger's poetry is characterized by a strict will to form, often taking up less-used verse and stanza forms such as B. Terzinen or Sestinen . On the other hand, language playful distance and ironic worldview, as they also appear in Robert Gernhardt and FW Bernstein , shape Krüger's style.
