Music Prize of the City of Munich
The Music Prize of the City of Munich is a German prize for young musicians .
It has been awarded since 1947 (biennial since 2000) for outstanding artistic achievements in the areas of composition, arrangement and interpretation. Primarily younger artists who have already made a name for themselves with a “young oeuvre” are to be funded.
Only artists or ensembles who have their place of residence or their place of work in Munich or the Munich region can be considered as award winners. Self-application is not possible. Four prizes will be awarded, each endowed with 6000 euros (as of 2017).
