Schlachthofbronx is a Munich DJ duo that crosses world music with electronic music . The musicians themselves call their genre “Munich Bass”.
history
Schlachthofbronx was founded in January 2008 in Munich's Schlachthofviertel by the three DJs Subbass-Commandante Graf von Stierenfroed, Bass-King T and DJ King Augenring. In 2009 the first album Schlachthofbronx was released on the Munich record label Disko B and Schlachthofbronx was presented in arte Tracks . A tour through Europe and South Africa followed . The trio shrank to a duo and in 2010 they performed worldwide in Russia , Mexico , Canada , the USA ( SXSW Festival in Austin) and at various festivals in Europe such as B. Sónar , Lowlands , Roskilde , Eurokennes , Frequency , Dour or Melt . At the end of the year she accompanied MIA on their European tour.
In 2011, Nasty Bass and the Chambacu Remix EP were released, two EPs on Diplo's renowned Mad Decent label, and their second album, Dirty Dancing , was released in 2012 , again on Disko B. On May 28, 2014, Schlachthofbronx released their third album, Rave and Romance, as a free download .
style
Schlachthofbronx mixes musical styles from different cultures with electronic beats. On3 describes the music as "a hybrid of Ghetto Tech , Kuduro , Baltimore Club , Dubstep and Miami Bass " while the Süddeutsche Zeitung calls it " Elektro , Dancehall , Dub , Kuduro and Baile Funk ".
The first, self-titled album also features Schorschl Take 3 , a collaboration with G.Rag and the Landlergschwister , which works in the field of Bavarian folk music .
