Tracks is a weekly pop culture magazine of the Franco-German television station Arte that has been broadcast since 1997 .

content

Tracks is produced alternately in Berlin, Hamburg, Paris and Munich and enjoys a loyal fan base in Germany and France, in front of the television and online. The music and culture magazine not only takes on formative artists of music history, but also in particular young and lesser known bands and movements within various subcultures .

The magazine tries to report on the music scene beyond the quota-oriented music industry and also to meet political and cultural demands. Tracks is strongly oriented towards the current counterculture .

The program is described on the Arte website as follows: "The weekly TV and web magazine on pop culture shows reports on current music, geek culture, cinema and artistic currents off the beaten track."

The episodes are produced alternately by Bayerischer Rundfunk and ZDF as well as two French broadcasters, which is partly evident from the main topics. A moderation usually takes place from the off . For a short time, the programs that are produced by ZDF were moderated by Charlotte Roche until she parted ways with ARTE in a dispute .
