Amadeus Boehm
Amadeus Böhm , also Gregor Böhm (born May 9, 1983 ) is a German musician , composer , music producer and organizer.
Life
Böhm grew up in Haar and attended the Ernst Mach grammar school there . As a child he took violin lessons , but then preferred the guitar as his favorite instrument . After graduating from high school, he briefly financed his living by painting portraits . In 2009 he completed his training as a sound engineer at SET (School of Entertainment & Technology) .
Musical work
According to their own statements, the Beatles had a particular musical influence on his work . Böhm played in a school band called Phlylanor . For solo appearances and recordings he used the pseudonym "Amadeus", under which he became known. On his solo albums, the singer-songwriter plays guitar and sometimes piano. After the release of his second album, the Webzine Rockreport wrote in October 2008: “Even after the first chords it becomes clear that this is not an off-side project, but passionate songwriting that is in no way lacking in independence. A crazy voice makes you feel goose bumps from the first moment what this is about. It's about pure music that you couldn't expect from Munich in this form. ”At the same time, the music magazine Visions stated:“ Here someone sounds like the Kooks when they play easy songs on expensive acoustic guitars for the more important television stations. The lyrics are a little weaker [...] but they were in the 60s too. If the young Amadeus had made himself a little more suitable for this, the deception would be almost perfect. ”He performs live in a four-person cast under the name Amadeus & The Breaking Hearts .
Böhm played in numerous musical groups. Among other things, he founded the already dissolved rock-jazz-experimental band Polyphems Monokel and in 2005 together with Raffael "Raffi" Scheiber the band Five! Nearly!! Hits !!! which was dissolved in 2009. Under the pseudonym “Mezy” he founded the garage soul rock band Elektrik Kezy Mezy a year earlier with Frank Feiler alias “Kezy” , which was funded in 2012 by the Initiative Musik . When performing live with the artists under contract with his labels, he also accompanies them with his guitar.
With his bands he performed together with well-known bands, for example with Art Brut , The Rifles or The View .
Music production and events
Böhm founded the independent label Flowerstreet Records in October 2008 together with Hanna Kolb and in 2010 a sister label called In Bloom Records . Both labels aim to promote young up-and-coming musicians. He also founded Flowerstreet Records with the intention of saving young artists from bad experiences that he himself had to make as a young musician. In this context he has been organizing the popular “Flowerstreet Festival” in Munich since 2009, among other things . Overall, his labels organize around 150 concerts a year. In 2012, Böhm founded the music publisher In Bloom Publishing, matching the name of his second label .
In 2013, alongside Thomas Sessner, head of the BR department “Film aktuell” and editor-in-chief of the Kino Kino magazine , Böhm was the main speaker at the Munich film festival “ 35mm -meets- Vinyl ”. In 2009, Prince Munich dubbed him “Marc Liebscher [manager of Sportfreunde Stiller ] of the new generation”. In 2011, the magazine Prinz put him at number 8 on their list of “The Most Important Munichers”. In an article about the band Exclusive, which he discovered, of the music magazine on3-Startrampe of the broadcaster ARD-alpha , he was dubbed “Munich Indie Impresario ” in 2012 .
