history

Feierwerk was founded in 1982 as a student project group. In January 1983 it was founded as an association.

“Feierwerk supports young Munich art, music and culture - and has been for over 30 years! Our basic attitude is to support different cultures in their independence and dynamism without dogma and ideology and to constantly accept new suggestions. We enable and promote belonging, regardless of age and generation limits. That is why all of our events and offers are open to different milieus, cultural scenes and age groups. "

Events

Concerts, dance events, festivals , discussion and social events, exhibitions and markets are the main focus in the Feierwerk . The different rooms make it possible for several concerts of different genres to take place at the same time. This takes place annually, for example, as part of the Sound of Munich now , a festival at which both Munich musicians and international artists and guests from changing partner cities perform. Since 2009, the musician and label owner Amadeus Böhm has been organizing the popular “ Flowerstreet Festival” on the site every year .

Due to the relatively small concert rooms (between 50 and 400 visitors per concert), the Feierwerk is a popular venue for lesser-known national and international bands. On May 26, 2020, for example, the musician Rainer Bartesch premiered his “Kulturhymne 2020”, composed on the occasion of the COVID-19 crisis, together with other freelance solo musicians on the Feierwerk site.
