Flowerstreet Records (LC 18893) is a Munich independent label . It was founded in October 2008 by Gregor "Amadeus" Böhm and Hanna Kolb.
history
The name of the label with the slogan “young, committed and talented!” Goes back to Böhm's former place of residence, Blumenstrasse in Munich. The label came into being when Böhm released his second solo album Love and Other Mistakes . From the beginning, Böhm's goal was to act as an interface between marketing and band support for the label's bands. The label's first band sold the first edition of their album immediately, which gave money for a new production. The following interpreter then sold his edition four times and after two years the operators were able to live on the income.
Flowerstreet Records promotes its own new discoveries in the young music scene in Munich and the surrounding area and also takes on typical agency tasks for the interpreters they support . The “Flowerstreet Festival” has been held annually in the Munich celebration since 2009 . In the first year the event was held on a small scale with seven bands, one year later 33 bands appeared. Since 2011, Flowerstreet Records has also been taking on label management, public relations as well as event planning and implementation of various events. There is also support with recordings and rehearsals. The entire team itself consists of musicians.
Despite the number of applicants per week of around 40 artists, an admission ban for new label applicants was imposed as early as 2010 due to the high level of supervision. Böhm founded the sister label In Bloom Records for performers with less need for supervision .
Michael Schuh from laut.de wrote at the beginning of 2010 on the occasion of the release of the Lucky Fish debut album Away From The Cliffs about the label: “But the small label Flowerstreet Records is not a fan of screaming marketing. There you know exactly which fish you have on the line. The motto seems to be for the clever ones too. And then hopelessly entangled in the net. " The tz label called in December 2013. as a " hallmark of Munich Independent scene " and drew Böhm and the Flower Street project with the tz-roses of the year in the category" pop "out.
