Elektrik Kezy Mezy (EKM) is a garage - beat- duo from Munich, founded in 2008, based on the music style of the 1960s.

history

Frank Feiler, who calls himself “Frank Kezy” in this formation, and Amadeus Böhm, active here under the pseudonym “Amadeus Mezy”, founded the duo a year before Five was finally dissolved ! Nearly!! Hits !!! . Electrics before the musician pseudonyms in the band name refers to the use of an electric guitar.

The recording time for the first album was nine hours. After this was published in the year after the founding with the title ElektriCity , the specialist press became aware of the band. The music magazine Visions rated the style of the two as follows:

“It offers fine 60s melodies, a confident garage beat and extremely charming vocals. Sometimes sobbing to soften the stone, then again hoarse croaking or dumpling roaring - the voices of Amadeus Mezy and Frank Kezy have clearly defined boundaries, but are pleasantly versatile within them. The songs rock crisp and snappy forward, the two gentlemen make a hell of a noise, but could also show courage to take a gap. They could, but they don't have to. "

The music and pop culture magazine Intro described the duo's live shows shortly afterwards as a "sweaty experience beyond compare". The webzine Plattentests.de headlined Elektrik Kezy Mezy as " Upper Bavaria's answer to the White Stripes " and attested the varied musical design of the album. The Munich evening newspaper called the two-man formation the “currently hottest band in town”. This was followed by appearances as the opening act for The Kills , Bonaparte , Black Lips , Little Barrie , Baskery , Alabama Shakes and The Robocop Kraus . Public relations and marketing for the band were supported by Initiative Musik in 2012 .

In February 2012 the band returned to the studio to record their second album. Simple Pleasures was released on May 10, 2013. The release party was held in March at the Atomic Café in Munich . afk M94.5 recommended the album in the 19th  calendar week as "record tip of the week". Acousticshock noted, “It doesn't take 2 guitars or a bass to sound“ full ”. Elektrik Kezy Mezy once again cites this proof with Simple Pleasures. ”The alternative webzine Terrorverlag.de reviewed:“ Solid craftsmanship that doesn't have to shy away from role models. ”At the end of 2013, Feiler and Böhm gave their hundredth live concert.
