The Kills is a British - American rock band , consisting of the American singer (at times also guitarist or bassist) Alison Mosshart alias VV and the London guitarist and singer Jamie Hince alias Hotel .

history

The duo began working together in 2000, and in 2002 they released their debut EP Black Rooster . The difficult to classify, sparse mixture of blues , punk and independent , which thrives on the mixture of drum machine rhythm, guitar riffs and minimalist production, met with worldwide approval from critics. In 2003 they released their debut album Keep On Your Mean Side on the British label Rough Trade Records , followed in 2005 by the album No Wow , about which songwriter Jamie Hince says: “With Keep On Your Mean Side we tried to cut everything off fat, just skin and bones. We did without them on the new album. "

Her piece No Wow was used among others for the soundtrack of the film Knallhart by Detlev Buck .

In December 2009, The Kills announced that they had started work on a new album. The fourth album Blood Pressures was released on April 5, 2011.
