Alison Nicole Mosshart (born November 23, 1978 ) is an American singer and guitarist . Under the pseudonym VV , she is a member of the British-American indie rock band The Kills .
Mosshart began her musical career in 1995 with the punk rock band Discount , which disbanded in 2000. Then she founded the band The Kills with Jamie Hince .
She is also part of the supergroup The Dead Weather , formed in early 2009 , which also includes Jack White ( The White Stripes / The Raconteurs ), Jack Lawrence ( The Greenhornes / The Raconteurs ) and Dean Fertita ( Queens of the Stone Age ).
