Dean Fertita (born September 6, 1970 in Royal Oak ) is an American rock musician and multi-instrumentalist .

Career

Fertita founded the band The Waxwings with Kevin Peyok , James Edmunds and Dominic Romano . By 2004 they released three studio albums together. Since the announcement of a fourth album in 2005, all members have devoted themselves to other projects and have given no further information about the whereabouts of the band. Fertita joined the band The Raconteurs as a tour member , also joined the Queens of the Stone Age in spring 2007 and has become a permanent member since the Era Vulgaris tour. At Queens of the Stone Age , Fertita plays the keyboard and electric guitarand sings .

During a creative break in the queens , Fertita devoted himself to his solo project called Hello = Fire and released a debut album of the same name, on which many guest musicians can be heard. Also in 2009, Fertita founded the band The Dead Weather together with Jack White , Alison Mosshart and Jack Lawrence . He also represented at the Eagles of Death Metal the bassist Brian O'Connor live after being diagnosed with this cancer.

At the end of 2015, Fertita worked with Queens colleague Josh Homme and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders on Iggy Pop's new studio album Post Pop Depression and also plays in his live band.
