Michael Shuman
Michael Jay Shuman (born August 20, 1986 in Los Angeles ), also known as Mikey Shoes , is an American rock musician and current bass player for Queens of the Stone Age .
Career
Shuman grew up in Los Angeles, attended various schools there and in the surrounding area and then studied at Loyola Marymount University . In 2004 he co-founded the band Wires on Fire , of which he is still a member. In the spring of 2007, Shuman joined Queens of the Stone Age after they had completed their fifth studio album Era Vulgaris and bassist Alain Johannes devoted himself to other projects. After recording some bonus tracks, the album went on tour from May 2007 to August 2008. In the meantime, Shuman was involved in Jubilee projects before he devoted himself to his new band Mini Mansions during the Queens creative break in mid-2008 . In 2010 Shuman began preproduction of their sixth studio album with the Queens .
