Kyuss / Queens of the Stone Age is a split EP of the Californian bands Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age . Kyuss broke up in October 1995 and guitarist Josh Homme formed a new band called Gamma Ray . But since there was already a band with the same name in Germany , he renamed them Queens of the Stone Age . Kyuss' songs were recorded as part of her last studio album ; the Queens of the Stone Age songs are from the Gamma Ray session in 1996.
