Muchas Gracias: The Best of Kyuss is a work by the band Kyuss released in 2000 . The compilation album was released five years after the band split up.
Origin and content
The album bears a confusing title with the Best of , as the majority of the songs it contains are among the band's rarities and only five songs come from the four regular studio albums. Six songs were previously released as B-sides on various singles and EPs. The four live versions, which were recorded in 1994 at the Hamburg Marquee Club in St. Pauli , were previously released on a promo CD and are the only official live material of the band. A photo competition has been started for the title cover. The second and third placed images are also printed in the booklet.
reception
Michael Rensen from Rock Hard magazine also saw the title addition Best of as deceptive. Due to the lack of tracks, “people who buy this CD in the expectation of being served a cross-section of the greatest Kyuss hits would definitely not have a 'muchas gracias' on their lips after the first run.” After all, there are some Contains rarities, other "obscurities are only of average quality".
