Vista Chino , previously known as Kyuss Lives! , is a band founded by John Garcia in 2010 , consisting of two other former Kyuss members and a guitarist, who brought the band Kyuss to life, but released a studio album in 2013.

Band history

At the beginning of 2010, ex-Kyuss singer John Garcia announced that he would be reliving the Kyuss myth live under the name Garcia Plays Kyuss with Bruno Fevery (guitar), Jacques de Haard (bass) and Rob Snijders (drums). During this tour, which took place exclusively in Europe, the quartet met ex-Kyuss members Nick Oliveri and Brant Bjork , who also performed there at the French Hellfest Festival , who immediately agreed to play a few songs. The already positive reactions to the live project were even higher in this constellation, so that they agreed to go on tour in this formation. In 2011 the band toured Europe and Australia. Furthermore, the band plans to record a new studio album after the joint tour and the completion of their respective solo projects.

At the end of July 2011 it was announced that Nick Oliveri would be replaced by the second former Kyuss bassist Scott Reeder after some difficulties with the prosecutor's office for the time being for performances outside the USA . In March 2012 it was reported that ex-guitarist Josh Homme and the second ex- Kyuss bassist Scott Reeder were suing Kyuss Lives! submitted. The band is accused of trademark infringement and consumer deception. In the face of pending lawsuits against both the band and himself, Oliveri decided in March 2012 to leave the band. In November 2012 it was announced that Kyuss Lives !, which Oliveri now also belongs to, were renaming themselves Vista Chino in order to avoid further disputes with the shipowner and Homme.

On August 30, 2013, the band released the album Peace . The band put two songs called Barcelonian and Dargona Dragona on the Internet in advance . Since Nick Olivieri was neither on tour with the band this year nor played bass on the album, it can be assumed that he was replaced by Mike Dean.
