Sarah Sophie (actually Sarah Sophie Jakubsche ; * 1988 ) is a German singer-songwriter . Your two first names serve as the artist name and the band name.

Career

Sarah Jakubsche grew up in Haar near Munich and also played soccer at TSV Haar when she was young . She attended the municipal Rainer Werner Fassbinder technical college for social affairs and design (Anton Fingerle Center) in Munich, where she was also active in the theater group. Originally, she wanted to study acting. She came to music in 2008 through Evelyn Hriberšek's music theater project Schockgefroren III and then took more singing than acting lessons.

In 2009 she wrote her first song and initially performed solo with guitar and piano , back then under the name Sarah Jakubsche . Since the end of 2010, the musician has been regularly accompanied on stage appearances by the beatboxer “Trash”, who initially also played the second guitar and occasionally sang the second voice. This is the artist pseudonym of Sebastian "Timo" Eckmüller (born December 25, 1995). As a solo artist , he won the "Robeat Award" at the 1st Stuttgart Beatbox Competition in the Renitenztheater in 2012 and in 2013 he took second place at the BeatBox Battle Switzerland in Zurich .

In 2010 the debut EP was released by Flowerstreet Records , which was re-released in 2012 after the label transfer to sister label In Bloom Records . Amadeus Böhm ( electric guitar , background vocals), label owner of Flowerstreet Records and In Bloom Records , has also been part of the stage and recording line-up of her band for several years . In February 2015, Sarah Sophie presented the first album at a release party at the Cord Club in Munich.

Since 2015 the singer has also had bassist Julia Hornung (* 1990), known from Vivid Curls , in the band.
