history

Singer and guitarist Dominik Sauter (born November 9, 1984) has British ancestors, bassist Thomas Reicherzer (born May 3, 1985) and drummer Alexander Föllmer (born May 7, 1986) are German. Without ever having published a professional demo, the band, which at that time was still practically non-existent , was booked for a performance in the Munich Club Prager Frühling on August 19, 2006 only because of a few solo demos by Sauter . Reicherzer and Föllmer joined the band for this purpose. Within a few months, the "band with the difficult name" (magazine In! Munich ) rose to become new bearers of hope on the Munich indie scene. A short time later she recorded the single Disco Queen under the direction of producer Christian Höck (including Arctic Monkeys , The Rakes ) , which gave them greater fame and tours in the opening act of Chikinki , The Automatic , Nova International , Five! Nearly!! Hits !!! and several other artists. In 2008 the band played on the "New & Hot-Stage" of the famous Austrian festival FM4 Frequency .

The Süddeutsche Zeitung called the band at the end of 2008 “Germany's greatest indie hope for 2009”, and the English magazine Parklife called the band “The most British of Bayrish bands”. Various media celebrated the band as "German hype band number 1" and "answer to the new British Invasion" ( Rolling Stone ).

In July 2009, the single This Ain't Indie (This is a Revenge) was released , which brought them greater media attention for the first time. In August 2009 the band was introduced as the official “FanWalk Band” by Sony Ericsson and the music broadcaster MTV . In this context, the band played numerous concerts presented by the two companies in Europe in October and November 2009. With the song Let's Get It On! the soundtrack for the current FanWalk commercial. On March 10, 2010, the album Pardon Ms. Arden was released on the indie label Flowerstreet Records . The band tours Germany mainly as the opening act for The Films and The Courteeners .

After a tour with the REM offshoot band The Posies , the band went into the studio in early 2011 and recorded the album Restless Legs . The single Any Other Place was released at the end of May and gave the band a nationwide disco hit. The album was released on August 5th, followed by tours with The Rifles and as a headliner, as well as appearances at numerous festivals. In May 2012, a new single was released entitled I Can't See the Point . In August 2012, the band was one of only three bands from Germany - alongside the Beatsteaks and LaBrassBanda , who were booked to perform at Europe's largest festival, the Hungarian Sziget Festival.

After the release of the album Distance in November 2013 and further tours, the band broke up in early 2015. In September 2016 the band announced their comeback and announced new music as well as new concerts. a. as support for The Rifles . In February 2017 the group released the EP Ambitions and the single Indiscreet Romance , which rose to number 7 on the official German college radio charts.

Further activities of the band members

Sauter, Reicherzer and Föllmer played together in the rock band The Burning Souls (formerly Soulburn ) from 2002 to 2007 . Sauter and Föllmer played together in the indie rock band Five from mid-2008 until they broke up in early 2009 ! Nearly!! Hits !!! . Sauter has also played in the indie folk formation Nick and the Roundabouts since early 2014 .
