German Children's Culture Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From 1996 to 2007 the German Children's Culture Prize was awarded annually by the German Children's Fund . The award went to projects and initiatives that have made a name for themselves in children's culture in its various forms of expression. The award was intended to encourage the development of a cultural identity among children.

The prize money was at least 25,000 euros.

Handover locations

The venues for the award ceremonies were renowned companies such as the Prinzregententheater in Munich, the Berlin Friedrichstadt-Palast , the Berlin children's and youth theater carrousel and the Stella Musical Theater on Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. The German Children's Fund invited children and young people from children's homes in Berlin and Brandenburg to the event .

Criteria and goals

Children want to try themselves out. They want to test and expand their creative abilities and skills. They want and should develop their own cultural identity. Children need this in order to grow up self-confidently, to find their equal place in society and to speak up when it comes to their concerns.
