Patrick Scales

Patrick Scales (born March 24, 1965 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a British-German jazz bassist and lecturer.

Live and act

At the age of 12, Scales took classical guitar lessons with Jeffrey Ashton. At the age of 14 he was already playing concerts as a bass player in American Army clubs in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the surrounding area. He has lived in Munich since 1989.

He has been a permanent member of Klaus Doldingers Passport since 1994 . From 1996 to 1999 he was a lecturer for electric bass at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim . Between 1999 and 2008 he was a teacher for electric bass at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich . Since 2008 he has been teaching at the University of Music and Theater in Munich .

Together with his brother Martin Scales (guitar) he released three CDs under his own name. He is co-author of the textbook: "A Rhythmic Concept for Funk / Fusion Bass" (Advance Music).

In the Wettersteingebirge he carried out first ascents of various routes.
