Biboul Darouiche (* 1963 in Yaoundé ) is a Cameroonian percussionist and composer.

When he was twelve years old, Darouiche's family left Cameroon. At the age of 16 he began his career as a professional percussionist. Today Darouiche lives and works mainly in Europe, but his engagements also lead him to the Middle East, the countries of the CIS, Brazil and the USA.

Since 1995 he has been with Klaus Doldinger's band Passport . He also worked a. a. with musicians like Al Di Meola , Pee Wee Ellis , Roy Ayers , Graham Haynes , Paquito D'Rivera , Jazz Baltica Essemble, Barry Wedgle, Harald Haerter and the Intergalactic Maiden Ballet, Kurtis Blow , Tshala Muana, Charlotte Mbango, Peter O'Mara , Martin Scales , Patrick Scales , Michael Hornek , Joo Kraus , Jojo Mayer , Milk & Sugar , Wolfgang Haffner , Adrian Mears , Roberto di Gioia , Christian Lettner , Brice Wassy, Lisa Fitz , Falk Willis and Johannes Enders .

In productions of Cornelius Claudio Kreusch's BlackMudRecords, Biboul played on various recordings, such as: africambient and Fefe alongside Salif Keitah, Richard Bona , Wil Calhoun, Herbie Hancock , Greg Osby and Marvin Smitty Smith .

Biboul's project Soleil Bantu is a musical portrait of his multicultural history - from his childhood in Cameroon to his work as an international musician. The band is made up of top-class musicians from the European jazz scene. A mixture of elements of Afrobeat and jazz is played. The interplay in this polyythmy enables a great variety of improvisations. Biboul sings in Ewondo , his mother tongue, as well as in English and French.
