Skip Records
Skip Records is an independent German music label that has existed since 1999. Concentrating on jazz , world music and “sophisticated pop”, it claims “to compile a sophisticated catalog of music that impresses with its consistently good artistic quality and excellent recording technology.” The label is run by Bernd Skibbe and Sabine Bachmann, who previously worked in different Areas of the music industry.
The label has recordings by Mitchel Forman , Albert Mangelsdorff , Charlie Mariano , Peter Fessler , David Friedman , Karin Hammar , Tony Lakatos , Wolfgang Haffner , Wolfgang Schlüter , the Tingvall Trio , Pee Wee Ellis , Omar Sosa , Susan Weinert , Joo Kraus , Emil Brandqvist , Paula Morelenbaum , Luka Bloom or Simphiwe Dana , although older publications are not necessarily kept. In addition to a few license acquisitions, the majority of the albums are self-produced.
