Emil Brandqvist (* 1981 in Halmstad ) is a Swedish jazz - drummer and composer from Gothenburg .
Brandqvist grew up in the village of Harplinge . His music studies led him to the Sturegymnasiet in Halmstad, the Billströmska folkhögskolan on Tjörn and the University of Gothenburg . In 2012 he wrote the score for the Swedish films Bloody Boys and Vägen Hem . Together with pianist Tuomas Turunen and bassist Max Thornberg , he forms the Emil Brandqvist Trio . The group's debut album Breathe Out was released in 2013 on the Hamburg label Skip Records .
