Christian Lettner (born April 9, 1974 in Mondsee ) is an Austrian jazz drummer.

Live and act

Lettner, who has been playing drums since he was eleven, began studying jazz at the Graz University of Music and Performing Arts . In 2000 he graduated with distinction from the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz .

In 1999 he won the Biberach Jazz Prize with The Sidewinders , which included Matthias Schriefl and Kristina Brodersen . He played with Karl Ratzer , the WDR Big Band Köln , Nils Landgren , Bob Belden , Jocelyn B. Smith , Adrian Mears , Peter O'Mara , Martin Scales , Patrick Scales , Johannes Enders , Andreas Radovan and Christian Radovan , among others .

Lettner has been part of Klaus Doldingers Passport since 2000 , where he replaced the long-time Passport drummer Wolfgang Haffner . He is also a permanent member of Joo Kraus - Basic Jazz Lounge (since 2004) and member of the Sabina Hank Band (since 2008). He also played with Rue Protzer ( One Note Story ).

Lettner works as a drum teacher at the Linz Music School . In 2004 the textbook "A Rhythmic Concept for Funk / Fusion Drums" was published, which he wrote together with Peter O'Mara .
