Uwe Ochsenknecht
Uwe Adam Ochsenknecht (born January 7, 1956 in Biblis ) is a German actor and singer . Ochsenknecht became famous in 1981 with the film Das Boot and in 1985 with the comedy Men .
Life
Ochsenknecht's parents left the GDR in 1951 and moved from Saalfeld to Biblis . Ochsenknecht grew up in Mannheim , where he attended, among other things, the Ludwig-Frank-Gymnasium and discovered his love for acting early on when he was hired as an extra at the Mannheim National Theater. At the age of 15 he had to leave high school after not being transferred for the third time. After completing secondary school in evening school, he was accepted at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum , which he successfully completed. First theater engagements followed, from 1977 film and television roles . As early as 1978 he played a mini role in a Hollywood film .
Ochsenknecht's breakthrough came with the role of a boatman in the film Das Boot (1981) by Wolfgang Petersen . Four years later the next success came: Men (1985) by Doris Dörrie with Heiner Lauterbach . Another great success was the leading role of the forger Fritz Knobel in the Oscar-nominated satire Schtonk! (1992) by Helmut Dietl , who targeted the affair of the forged Hitler diaries in a not too detailed way . For his role as Hans Pollak in Football is Our Life , he was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize in 1999 and the German Film Prize in 2000 . In 2001 he was awarded the German Television Prize for the supporting role of Johann "Hans" Ferbach in the television film Vera Brühne . In addition, Ochsenknecht has appeared in numerous television and cinema films. He explains his successful career in part by the fact that he wanted to turn acting into a profession as a teenager: “I knew quite early - at 14 or 15: 'I want to be an actor.' That was 150 percent clear to me. "
Uwe Ochsenknecht was one of the founding members of the German Film Academy in 2003 .
Ochsenknecht has been promoting Appenzeller cheese on Swiss television since 2003 . He receives part of his fee in the form of cheese at his own request.
In May 2011 Ochsenknecht took part in the Sat1 format Der Bastelkönig . In 2011 he and his son Wilson Gonzalez appeared in the music video for "House on Fire" by the Berlin band Beatsteaks. In 2011 he appeared as Hansi Haller , who started a comeback as a pop singer after a long time. In his role he performed with his own stage program in several German cities and released a download single entitled Oh-La-La-Larissa .
At the beginning of the 1990s he gained a second mainstay with music; he has since released several albums. He is the singer with The Screen, Mick Rogers ( Manfred Mann's Earth Band ) and Thomas Blug are guitarists. The two ex-musicians from Gary Moore's band Pete Rees (bass) and Graham Walker (drums) are also represented.
The television films in the series Der Bulle und das Landei , which have been broadcast at irregular intervals since 2009 and of which six episodes have been seen so far, present Ochsenknecht as a police commissioner who has been transferred to the Eifel and has to deal with criminal cases in the rural seclusion. His partner is Diana Amft .
family
Uwe Ochsenknecht was married to Natascha Ochsenknecht from 1993 to the end of July 2012 . He has three children with her: the sons Wilson Gonzalez and Jimi Blue , who work as actors themselves, and a daughter, the model Cheyenne Savannah Ochsenknecht. He is also the father of actor Rocco Stark from a previous relationship .
