Torn out! What now? is a socially critical TV series from ARD from 1978. It tells the stories of young runaways and the difficult work of their helpers. The broadcast took place in the evening programs of the regional broadcasters.

The focus of the series with self-contained episodes and changing actors are stories about teenage runaways, the background and motivation for their desperate actions. They come from a good family or come from youth homes and boarding schools. Often the causes of their problems lie in domestic conflicts or arguments with teachers or home managers. The difficult work of psychologists, social workers and police officers, whose goal is to lead the outliers back to an orderly life, is also described.
