The television series is about the trio Werner Träsch, Ralle Schieber and Tarik Büyüktürk, who work for the Berlin garbage disposal, the three men who are the title-bearing “Three from the garbage disposal”. n. Werner Träsch, the boss among the garbage collectors, has a relationship with Gabi "Späti" Hertz. The trio go about their work with passion and great care. The three men also have a heart for the people around them, whom they care for and for whom they sometimes find themselves in situations to help. Träsch, Schieber and Büyüktürk are big fans of oldie music.

Rüdiger Dorn, her supervisor, would prefer to have the garbage collectors replaced by the PZT04-5000 robot.
