Reiterhof Wildenstein is a German television series that has been produced for Das Erste since 2019 on behalf of ARD-Degeto . The episodes are approx. 85 minutes long and will be broadcast as part of the series Endlich Freitag on Erste . Production is carried out by Neue Bioskop Film . The focus of the series is the horse trainer Rike Wildenstein ( Klara Deutschmann ), who is returning to Germany to save the traditional family stud.

Episode 1 - The Horse Whisperer

Rike returns to her Bavarian homeland after 13 years to bury her father. The young animal trainer has since found her happiness in Arizona, USA , where she breeds Jack Mustangs with her partner . During her journey home, however, Rike is horrified to find that her brother Ferdinand has run down the traditional family stud. Now everything depends on the talented, but also impetuous dressage horse Jacomo: If it does not collect prize money soon, the stud is threatened with death. Rike soon gets into the saddle herself to protect the sensitive stallion from the tournament rider Dessaulier and his brutal training methods - even if she gets into a lot of trouble with her family. In addition, her old feelings about her childhood sweetheart flare up again, who as a local bank employee is faced with a major problem: On the one hand, he wants to save the stud, on the other hand, he has to represent the interests of his creditors .

Episode 2 - Battle for Jacomo

Rike accepts the great challenge and tries to save the heavily indebted Wildenstein riding stables. She is supported in this by the previously convicted Tabea, who has to complete her rehabilitation program at the stud . Rike also learns that her brother Ferdinand has betrayed her and hired her at another farm. He also tries to take the highly talented stallion Jacomo with him. When a riding accident happened at the stud, Ferdinand and his wife Loretta took advantage of this to implement their plan. But Rike receives unexpected support in the battle for Jacomo. And Rike also has to slowly become clear about her true feelings about her childhood sweetheart Christian.

The first two episodes were filmed from June 20 to August 24, 2018 under the direction of Vivian Naefe . The filming of episodes 3 and 4 took place from September 18 to November 22, 2019. Directed by Teresa Hoerl . The film was shot in Munich , Starnberg , Weilheim and the surrounding area.
