Weingut Wader is a television series that was produced by U5 Filmproduktion for Das Erste from 2018 to 2019 on behalf of ARD Degeto . The episodes are about 90 minutes long and were broadcast as part of the series Endlich Freitag on Erste . The main role of Anne Wader is played by Henriette Richter-Röhl .

Anne is a passionate winemaker, but the sudden death of her father messes everything up. She was supposed to take over the winery from him later, but now everything seems different because her father had not signed the will. That's why she inherits only a quarter of the winery, her brother Matthias wants to sell his share because his restaurant in Hamburg is about to go bankrupt, and her mother Käthe just wants to be quiet and therefore tends to sell. Then there is also Bruno, her father's brother, who felt badly treated at the time because his brother Albert was once able to take over the farm. In the meantime, thanks to his marriage, he has his own winery, but he speculates on being able to buy the other winery and therefore plays the helpful. But these are not the only worries that plague Anne, as a single mother of a blind daughter, she is also challenged there. Luckily there is Anne's best friend Corinna and her brother Valentin, who is cellar master at her uncle Bruno's, but has an eye on her and therefore supports her. Now it all depends on whether her mother is selling or not.

The filming locations of the episodes are in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in the Hambach district . The Schäffer winery served as a backdrop, as did the Isler winery vinotheque. The first episode was shot from October 25 to November 24, 2017, the second episode from June 5 to July 4, 2018, and the third and fourth episode from April 30 to July 11, 2019.

“The plot of the new ARD series“ Weingut Wader ”(Degeto / U5 Filmproduktion) suggests a family saga that is as blissful as it is soapy. But from the first picture on, the opening episode “The Inheritance” leaves a completely different impression and shows once again that the how it matters is particularly important in the entertainment field. The look is excellent, which has to do with the realistic lighting, the tasteful scene and a pleasant narrative flow. An even bigger plus: the plot comes from the characters. They are people like you and me who have very different needs, often born out of necessity, and who usually don't want the other person to harm them. The family interaction has a dynamic that has nothing to do with good / bad dramaturgy and Palatinate intrigues, although “The Family Secret” gets a bit in the wake of conventional family soap operas that reveal the lies of the past. But if you see it in the genre: a highlight of the ARD Friday series! "
To the third and fourth episode:
"At least as far as the stories and the dramaturgy are concerned," Weingut Wader "(U5 film production) in the new episodes" Only Together We Are Strong "and" New Paths "got lost where too many ARD Friday series have their home: on (TV from) yesterday. The series began like "These Drombuschs", now the whole thing is more in the tradition of the "Black Forest Clinic". The staging and cast remain a big plus. "
