Andrea Stoll

Andrea Stoll (born September 1, 1960 in Rüsselsheim ) is a German author , dramaturge and filmmaker .

life and work

Andrea Stoll has written numerous books, essays and screenplays and made a name for herself as a biographer. In her films as in her books she prefers to turn to socially taboo, historically forgotten and biographically sensitive topics. After studying German , philosophy and journalism in Mainz and Vienna , Stoll received her doctorate in 1990 with a study on the Austrian writer Ingeborg Bachmann and then taught literature and screenplay development for fifteen years at the Salzburg University . Her films have received numerous nominations and critical acclaim, and the correspondence between Ingeborg Bachmann and Paul Celan Herzzeit , which she initiated and co-edited , has become an international bestseller and has now been translated into numerous languages.
