Big fish, small fish is a German TV film from 2015 by Oscar winner Jochen Alexander Freydank (written and directed). In addition to Uwe Ochsenknecht and Dietmar Bär, the main roles are occupied by Axel Stein , Jürgen Tarrach and Katharina Thalbach .
The star-studded tragic comedy had its television premiere on May 21, 2015 on ZDF .

A small place on the Baltic coast. Fishermen of yore now hand out food for tourists. Where old, stinking fishing nets used to be the order of the day, there is now a parking lot and at the port there will soon be parking meters for the yachts that will one day dock there.
The two veteran fishermen Paul and Fiete still have no idea of any of this. Paul, known as Loudmouth, and Fiete, a rather silent man with a fine sense of humor, have been best friends since early childhood. But the friendship between the two is put to the test. Paul learns that he is not Piet's father, which he always took for granted, but his best friend ... Fiete! And that means war between the two unequal men. You are now beginning to make your life hell - much to the amusement of everyone in town. Piet stands unintentionally in between. His “two” fathers remain unforgiving. And if something takes time, it takes a long time here.
