action

The Boov - an alien species on the run from their enemy, the Gorg - are approaching planet Earth. Their leader, Captain Smek, who is highly convinced of himself, has chosen this as their new home. To make room for the boov, the earth's gravity is temporarily switched off and the inhabitants are relocated without further ado. The somewhat clumsy but cheerful Boov Oh, who has so far tried in vain to make friends with his fellow Boov, cannot inspire them with an invitation to his welcome party. Eventually he tries to invite the reluctant traffic boov Kyle to his party. However, he accidentally sends the e-mail with the directions not only to Kyle, but "to everyone". So this email is on its way to all the aliens in the galaxy - and of course to the Gorg's mother ship. Panic breaks out among the Boov worldwide and Oh is only lucky enough to escape immediate arrest.

The seventh grader Tipsy Tucci, who escaped the forced relocation together with her cat, goes in search of her mother and meets the fugitive Oh. Forced by external circumstances, the two reluctantly team up and make their way to Paris to find out where Tipsy's mother has been relocated to at the Boov headquarters there. They begin their journey in the Tuccis' small car that Oh had previously modified - using a slush machine , among other things - and which can now fly. On their rather involuntary journey together, both gradually learn a little more about each other's life, views and problems. Oh says that Captain Smek, whom he greatly admires, was once invited by the leader of the Gorg to peace negotiations, but fled out of sheer fear and took away a trophy. Cannot understand that escaping any danger is considered an admirable quality for a boov, and in turn tries to explain Oh what family is.

Once in Paris, the two can get to the headquarters - the Eiffel Tower hovering over the city. There Oh can not only delete his e-mail at the very last second so that it does not reach the Gorg leader, he can also find the whereabouts of Tipsy's mother Lucy: Australia. Countless people were resettled in an amusement park-like facility called the "Glücksmenschenstadt" created by the Boov. However, upon exiting the Eiffel Tower, Oh and Tipsy are discovered. Contrary to Oh's hope that he will now be celebrated as a hero boov because he deleted the email, Captain Smek wants to wipe him out. Instead of the maximum nine mistakes allowed for a boov, Oh had already made 62 mistakes and Captain Smek does not want to be softened. Luckily, Tipsy and Oh can escape again and make their way to Australia. Oh is now seeing his great hero Captain Smek for the first time, the Boov taking over the earth and people with different eyes. He apologizes to Tipsy for the fact that the Boov came to earth and the mutual benefit of the two becomes friendship.

In the meantime, however, the Gorg mother ship has reached our solar system and is on its way to Earth, which is why the Boov panicked and flee back to their own mother ship. The flying car damaged by an attacking Gorg fighter plane crashes and lands in a wooded area. Oh regards the mission as a failure and wants to give up, but lets Tipsy persuade him to look for usable spare parts in the also crashed fighter plane. The machine turns out to be an unmanned drone and Oh can repair the flying car with the help of the Gorg superchip found in it.

Eventually Tipsy and Oh arrive at Lucky City in Australia. There, too, all the Boov flee to their mother ship. When Oh sees this, he panics for good and forgets his promise to help Tipsy. Instead, he tries to convince her to flee with him. Tipsy, disappointed, turns him away and starts looking for her mother, while Oh is the last boov to get on board. The Gorg mothership is now in close proximity to Earth and wants to attack the Boov spaceship. Oh can insert the Gorg superchip into the propulsion system of the Boov spaceship and thereby get out of range of the Gorg. The Boov are extremely astonished and impressed by this act, which is atypical for their species, and choose Oh as their new leader.

Meanwhile, Tipsy has not been able to find her mother and is crying and hopelessly sitting in a corner when suddenly Oh stands in front of her. They make up and finally discover Tipsy's mother. As the two hug, Oh, it becomes clear why the Gorg are chasing the Boov across the galaxy: they want the trophy back that Captain Smek once took! Oh decides to return this inconspicuous fist-sized stone, which can be opened, to the Gorg and runs screaming towards the gigantic Gorg mother ship, which has meanwhile landed nearby and has begun to destroy the earth with huge paddle-wheel-like tools. Finally, Tipsy manages to draw the Gorg commander's attention to the comparatively tiny Oh with a mirror and sunbeam. The commander immediately stops the machines, but Oh is buried under one of the large shovels, but at the last moment he can throw the stone at Tipsy. While she is still mourning her supposedly dead friend, the shovel is raised again and the uninjured Oh appears. The Gorg mothership opens and the impressively tall commander comes out. As it turns out, he's actually a tiny, starfish-like alien dressed in some kind of high-tech suit. Oh hands him the stone and the two exchange a few sentences in Gorg language. Satisfied, the commander re-enters his ship and leaves the earth in it. Oh explains to the astonished Tipsy and her mother that the stone contains the entire next generation of Gorg - as tiny little larva-like starfish. Since the commander was the last living gorg, he had no choice but to retrieve this precious stone to save the species from extinction.

Two weeks later, the original conditions on earth are largely restored. Oh is finally having his long-awaited party with people and Boov as guests. Tipsy plays her music and brings dancing to the Boov present. At the same time, Boov, who have settled on the moon, and a number of other aliens celebrate on their spaceships - including the Gorg commander with his now hatched offspring.
