Lorne Balfe
Lorne Balfe (born February 23, 1976 in Inverness ) is a Scottish film composer who is currently working in Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions studio . He mostly composes as a co-composer or ghostwriter for Hans Zimmer. Balfe has been involved in projects such as Inception , Sherlock Holmes and the music for the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 . As the producer of the music for The Dark Knight , he won a Grammy in 2009 and an Emmy for his composition for Restless . He also works under the pseudonym Oswin Mackintosh .
Life and career
Born the son of the musician David Balfe, Lorne came into contact with the music business at an early age. He moved to Los Angeles to work at Remote Control Productions . There he learned and worked with Hans Zimmer, among others, and wrote pieces about The Da Vinci Code - Da Vinci Code , The Dark Knight and Inception . His first film, for which he made the music alone, was Ironclad . He is known among his colleagues as a composer who works particularly quickly. Balfe also composes music for television series, commercials, and trailers. In addition to film music, he is also known to a wide audience as a composer of video game music, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 , Assassin's Creed and Beyond: Two Souls .
