action
Great changes are in store for the Stone Age Croods family, who so far have only survived thanks to the prudent and conservative head of the family, Grug. The earth shakes and changes and the Croods cave collapses. Grug and his family have to leave behind everything they know so far. Fortunately, the curious daughter Eep made the acquaintance of Guy, a nomadic adolescent who has creative ideas to help the family while they find a new home together. Guys raving about the future and his original influences disturb Grug, who is guided by the past. It is difficult for Grug to give up the leadership role, but he too is learning to be creative instead of conservative. The family also wins a dog and a cat as pets.

The film was originally produced by Aardman Animations in 2005 as a stop-motion film and as part of a larger package with DreamWorks Animation under the working title of Crood Awakening . John Cleese and Kirk DeMicco wrote the first version of the script. In 2007 the film rights went to DreamWorks.
Chris Sanders , the director of Lilo & Stitch , joined DreamWorks in 2007 to direct the film. He wanted to rewrite the script extensively. In September 2008 it was announced that Sanders had taken over the work and postponed the release date to March 2012. The final original title, The Croods and co-director Kirk DeMicco were announced in May 2009. In March 2011, the publication was postponed again for a year to 2013.

“For undemanding animation fans, The Croods offers a nice starting idea, lots of lightning-fast action in comic physics worlds, a few Disney moral standards and not much else. So roughly what every other animation film offers these days. "
"It's hard to imagine that there will be a better animated film in the cinemas this year."
“'The Croods' feels like the creators have been given a free pass to be creative without limits and without regard to anything. And the directors duo make extensive use of this unheard-of gift for a big budget Hollywood film to the blessing of the audience! "
