Alan Silvestri
Alan Anthony Silvestri (born March 26, 1950 in Manhattan , New York City ) is an American composer and conductor who is one of the most sought-after film composers in Hollywood . He graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in film music in 1970 and has composed and conducted over 100 film scores to date. He was best known for his collaboration with the director Robert Zemeckis .

Alan Silvestri has been married to his wife Sandra since 1978, has three children and lives in Carmel, California, where he also founded his own winery, Silvestri Vineyards . He also has a private pilot license .

In 2003 Silvestri was supposed to write the music for the box office hit Pirates of the Caribbean . After differences with producer Jerry Bruckheimer , he left the project and was replaced by Klaus Badelt .
