Klaus Badelt (2007)

Klaus Badelt (born June 12, 1967 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German composer who specializes in television and film music .

life and career

Badelt grew up in Bad Bodendorf and attended the Rhein-Gymnasium Sinzig . In 1989 he was co-founder of concept-computer GmbH in Bad Breisig , which he left in 1992 to devote himself entirely to his music.

He began his career with music for commercials and video games in Mannheim and had success with the music for the television series Peter Strohm and some episodes of Tatort . In 1997 he began an internship with Hans Zimmer in his studio Mediaventures in California and worked with him on several films (e.g. Gladiator , Hannibal , Pirates of the Caribbean ).

He made his breakthrough with the film The Time Machine . His studio is called Wunderhorn Music . His best known and most played work is that of the Pirates of the Caribbean film series . Although this was created in collaboration with Hans Zimmer, Badelt was the lead composer.

He also wrote the music for the closing ceremonies at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
