action

Romain Faubert suffers from hypochondria , a mental illness in which the person concerned suffers from fear of having serious illnesses. His job as a photographer for an online medical encyclopedia is a major contributor to this condition, as is the vast amount of information on the Internet. This unhindered access also means that Romain Faubert supplies himself with incorrect information and, as a result, carries out self-diagnoses. These self-diagnoses often lead the imaginary patient to the practice of Dr. Dimitri Zvenka. Since he was very friendly to him at the first treatment and was likely to have dealt with all of his problems, which he later regrets, Romain Faubert comes to him again and again. The doctor recognizes the loneliness in his patient's neurotic and phobia and then decides to couple Romain Faubert. However, this does not work as desired and the doctor tries shock therapy . In the proposed action, however, Romain is mistaken for a rioter of a rebellion. And it is precisely the doctor's sister, who seems to adore the revolutionary leader because she has the same foreign roots as he, is drawn to this image, which Dimitri does not like at all.

Reviews

“From the conflict between problem and avoidance strategy, that drastic comedy grows, as it is already known from Welcome to the Sht'is. Dany Boon has remained true to his character, the awkward, difficult to convey, but lovable booby, with this film too. "

- Berliner Zeitung

“None of this is really sparkling. That little bit of laughter in this comedy isn't necessarily contagious. "

- Bavarian radio

production

development

In 2011 Dany Boon announced a new film in which he wanted to portray the life of a family in the north of France. In the summer of 2012, however, inspired by his own hypochondria, he decided to make a film about “people with imaginary diseases of the modern age”. In this film, too, he wanted to be both a director and a screenwriter.

The film was produced by Pathé Films with a budget of 31,574,000 euros in cooperation with TF1 , France 3 , Canal + and the Belgian production company Artemis Productions.
