Little Nick (original title Le petit Nicolas ) is a French - Belgian comedy film directed by Laurent Tirard from 2009 .

action

Little Nick is supposed to write down what he would like to become at school. He knows from many of his classmates who write eagerly what they want to be one day, but he has no plan for the future himself, as he wants everything to stay the same as before. One day, classmate Joachim was late for class, but a teacher excused him: he had a little brother that night. While the teacher congratulates him, Joachim doesn't look happy at all. The baby cries all the time and nobody cares, while everyone scolds when Joachim makes noise. Joachim, on the other hand, didn't want a brother, but a bike, and is now doubly frustrated. Nick wants to know how he noticed that the parents were having a brother, and Joachim explains that dad was noticeably nice to mom and even took out the trash. A short time later, Nick also realizes that his parents are very peaceful with one another. When the father takes out the trash, Nick knows that he will have a brother too. Not only does Joachim's darkly drawn picture of his future childhood scare him, but also the thought that his parents might abandon him in the forest when his brother is there - that is what happened to Thumbnail , whose story is being discussed at school.

Nick's father plans to take his boss Maßbaum and his wife out to dinner, because he hopes it will get him promoted faster. Nick is not allowed to be present at the meal because he would only disturb - he hears this incoherently and fears the worst. He then tries to stand out through particular bravery. Among other things, he visits unloved acquaintances and plays with her daughter Marie Hedwig and her friends. But when his mother invites him for a weekend walk in the woods, Nick locks the car doors and refuses to come out, so his parents have to push the car home.

Nick and his friends form a secret society to deal with the brother problem. You want to make yourself useful at Nick's house, showing that he's too important to be exposed. However, the cleaning action goes wrong and leads to chaos and a machine-washed house cat. When his mother reacts indignantly, Nick immediately packs his things and leaves, but after a short time he returns home. Because he was there first, in the end the little brother had to disappear. A gangster should take on this task. Nick calls an auto mechanic who he believes is an escaped convict due to the same name. However, the mechanic wants 500 francs for a "pick-up". The children first want to earn money with roulette, but then prefer to pretend to have brewed a magic potion whose effects they can make believable with a trick. Soon they have taken 530 francs from children who are allowed to taste the magic potion.

When Nick calls the mechanic, he asks where the car is. Nick concludes that the gangster needs a car to do his job. The rich Georg sends his chauffeur to get ice cream and starts the family car alone, but can do nothing but drive. The odyssey ends as planned in front of a phone booth. When the boys talk to the mechanic again on the phone, Joachim appears with a stroller. He is now enthusiastic about his brother, who can already say his name. He has realized that one day he will be the big brother who is looked up to and as whom he can teach his little brother everything. Nick cancels the child abduction and wants a brother too. However, his parents explain to him that the mother is not expecting a child. That will soon change, and Nick's mother is pregnant. After a long wait, the child is born - a sister. Nick's dreams of the future collapse and he is outraged. In contrast to everyone else, he doesn't find the little sister beautiful and realizes that if he had foreseen it, he would have preferred a dog. Everyone present starts to laugh heartily at his words, and Nick now knows what he wants to do later: He wants to make people laugh.
