François Damiens (born January 17, 1973 in Uccle , Belgium ) is a Belgian actor and comedian .

Life

François Damiens studied economics and did a four-month internship in Australia. At the same time, he successfully managed to sell smaller skits for the Belgian version of the Hidden Camera. He was hired and played in several skits. He quickly became popular and famous, so in 2004 he had to stop using the Belgian version because he was permanently recognized. From 2004 he played for the French version of the hidden camera. But he also quickly became famous in France and Switzerland, so that he ultimately had to stop using the hidden camera.

However, he established himself parallel to his television career as a supporting actor on the screen. He made his debut in the 2006 comedy film OSS 117, directed by Michel Hazanavicius - The Spy Who Loved Each Other at the side of Jean Dujardin , Bérénice Bejo and Richard Sammlung . Damiens was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of the bumbling technician Mark in the love comedy The Order Overlay at the César 2011 French Film Award ; for The steadfast love of Suzanne he also received a nomination, 2014. In 2015 Damiens was named Best Actor in Do You Understand the Béliers? nominated.
