content

The paths of different holidaymakers meet in the Breton seaside resort of Le Croisic . Two couples stay in a beach hotel. One of the husbands controls a kite . This gets caught in the other woman's necklace and snatches the chain. The kite owner and the other woman then go in search of the kite. Eventually they find the dragon and the chain in a nudist camp . In the meantime, the spouses who stayed behind have become friends and have retired to the hotel room to exchange intimacies.

In another hotel room, a couple are practicing sadomasochistic games. In the course of this , the dominatrix ties the man to the bed and later disappears with his car.

At the nearby campsite , different campers who spend their vacation in caravans , tents or small houses meet . Meanwhile, their children befriend a young punk couple .

criticism

“The humorous comedy indulges in a brightly colored series of pictures. He tells of the vacation experiences of good citizens at the sea. In the process, many a lovable quirk is poked fun at and some bad habits of inveterate philistines are satirically targeted. The film pays homage to the famous 1953 movie classic "The Holidays of Monsieur Hulot" by Jacques Tati and entertains with a lot of witty humor. "

“A comedy that uses exaggeration, slapstick and black humor to turn everyday characters into tragic-comic characters and lovingly traces human weaknesses in the tradition of Jacques Tati's" Monsieur Hulot's Holidays ". In doing so, she relies less on dialogues than on expressive sound design, on the drama and the pointed staging of the characters in the pictorial space. "

“People in no man's land, in the holiday kingdom, a weekend at the sea. They come together from all directions, pass each other, sometimes their fates get caught up for a short time. It is the wind that brings people together, it drives away a kite on which a gold chain has become tangled that a man and a woman want back; he is at an urn burial; and a masochist, chained to his bed in the hotel room, the free red dragon appears just outside the window. The wind cannot be grasped and neither is freedom, as the original title suggests, you can neither buy nor rent it. "
