Jacques Gamblin (born November 16, 1957 in Granville , Manche , France ) is a French actor .

biography

Jacques Gamblin worked as a technician for a theater company and was only considered to be cast in a production by chance. In doing so, he discovered his own talent and decided to study acting at the Comédie de Caen . He then played in England and France before making his screen debut alongside Robert Murzeau and Alain Moussay in the television film La double inconstance, broadcast in 1984 and directed by René Lucot .

He received more attention for his portrayal of the homosexual businessman André Lemoine in the comedy film, directed by Gabriel Aghion , Men Like It Hot! . It was for this development included in the award of the French film award César in 1997 as a Best Supporting Actor nomination. Further nominations followed in 2009 and 2011 as Best Actor for his performances in C'est la vie - This is how we are, this is life and the name of the people .
