Taxi 4 is a 2007 action comedy directed by Gérard Krawczyk based on a script by Luc Besson . It is the continuation of the films Taxi (1998), Taxi Taxi (2000) and Taxi 3 (2003).

action

At the beginning of the film, Émilien is busy transporting a VIP (guest appearance by Djibril Cissé ) with a police escort. Due to an accident, the process is delayed and Émilien asks Daniel for help to transport the VIP by taxi.

The next day, Émilien and Daniel watch their two sons, whom they had with their wives Petra and Lilly, during football training when Émilien is called to the station. At the precinct, Commissaire Gibert informs his people that a Belgian prisoner is about to be transported and that the Gibert precinct should ensure that the prisoner is temporarily kept in Marseille . After Gibert took the prisoner from General Bertineau and interrogated him at the station, Gibert accidentally drugged himself and Émilien took over the interrogation. The prisoner said that there was a mix-up, which Émilien can understand, since the Belgian’s accomplices exchanged the photo in the search computer.

After his release, the Belgian accidentally gets into Daniel's taxi and lets himself be taken to his accomplices. After Gibert wakes up from his anesthetic and has to find that Émilien has released the Belgian, he fires him. He tells this to Daniel, who then tells Émilien that he drove the Belgian in his taxi. The two then observe the hiding place of the Belgian. He has hired Petra, who plays a specialist undercover to rob a bank. Daniel and Émilien pursue the Belgian to Monaco , where he raids the Banque Royale de Belgique, where his twin brother Fénimore works, thus laying the wrong track for Émilien. Gibert then arrests the brother of the Belgian and interrogates him. The Belgian then drives into a rogue villa and tries to seduce Petra, who is fighting back.

Émilien wants to penetrate the property as the vanguard, but is discovered and shown to the Belgian, whereupon Petra asks the Belgian to be allowed to torture Émilien. She reveals herself to Émilien, who takes his wife hostage. The summoned Gibert wants to storm the property together with the Sonderkommando, but ends up in a pile of cocaine and shoots around wildly, so that the Belgian takes cover. Daniel helps Émilien and Petra to escape and takes the Belgian with him in the trunk. Émilien is then reinstated and the Belgian is arrested by the police. The innocent brother of the Belgian is caught by the rightful owner of the villa, who puts cement shoes on him.

criticism

“Disappointing third sequel to the surprise success from the pen of Luc Besson, which only strings together serial gags; The sometimes furious stunts of the previous films are also in short supply. "

Effect technique

After a Peugeot 406 car was seen as a taxi in the first three episodes of the film series, a Peugeot 407 will be used for the first time in Taxi 4 . The new prop can transform its appearance even more spectacularly than its predecessor. As a novelty, the taxi can extend air inlets both on the bonnet and on the roof. In addition, the entire body can be dynamically widened. The predecessor vehicle was already equipped with a front and rear spoiler . Now there is also an imposing movable spoiler. The control console for the gimmicks integrated into the vehicle was built by the French motorcycle and car refiner Ludovic Lazareth.

Remarks

  • Like part 3 of the taxi film series, the film did not come into German cinemas. The French premiere of T4xi was on February 14, 2007.
  • T4xi has been available as a German DVD since January 28, 2009.
  • The role of the friend of the main actor Lilly Bertineau ( Marion Cotillard ), known from the previous parts, is no longer cast in T4xi . The plot states that she has been away.
  • Apart from a very short high-speed scene in the opening credits of the film, there is no chase or frenzy in the fourth part of the taxi series as they were known from the previous films.
  • The film Scarface is alluded to in several places .
