Gennady Fish (* 20th April 1973 in Simferopol ) is a German grandmaster in chess Ukrainian origin.

Life

Since June 2007 he has had the title of grandmaster. He had achieved the required standards in the German Federal Chess League , namely in the seasons 2003/04 , 2004/05 and 2006/07 .

In 1996 he finished seventh at the Ukrainian individual championship in Yalta , which was won by Mychajlo Holubjew . In 2001 he won the IM tournament in Cuxhaven . In 2002 and 2004 he won the Open Bremen Individual Championship, in 2004 he won the Chess.Org-Pokal-Open in Bad Zwischenahn and in 2005 the Delme-Open in Delmenhorst . 2004 and 2005 he was Bremer Blitz champion. At the German individual championships in 2005 in Altenkirchen (Westerwald) , he finished 12th, 11th.

In Germany he has been playing for Werder Bremen since 2004 , with whom he became German champions in the 2004/05 season , before that he played for the Bremen Chess Society of 1877 . He plays for Ech in the French Liga Nationale II . Center Vaucluse et Pays des Sorgues .

In 1995 he switched from the Russian to the Ukrainian chess federation. He has been playing for the German Chess Federation (DSB) since November 1, 2001.
