Daniel Hausrath (born April 8, 1976 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German chess player .

Daniel Hausrath attended the Otto Pankok School , a grammar school in Mülheim. He studied economics in Duisburg and is not only active as a chess player, but also as a chess trainer. In this role he heads the Essen / Mülheim service center.

At the U14 World Cup in 1990 in Fond du Lac (USA) he was ninth, Judit Polgár won the championship. At the U16 World Championship in Duisburg in 1992 , he finished 23rd. In 1992, he won the German U17 individual championship in Steinsfurt . In 1994 at the European Youth Championships U18 in Chania on Crete , Hausrath came fourth behind Robert Kempiński , Róbert Ruck and Jiří Štoček .

He won the Ruhr Peninsula Open in Essen - Überruhr in 1996, 1999, 2000, 2005 and 2007. He won the Großenbaumer PfingstOpen in Duisburg in 2002 (before Romuald Mainka ) and 2004 (before Gerhard Schebler ). In 2007 he won the individual championship in North Rhine-Westphalia in Herne - Börnig , and in 2009 the individual championship in blitz chess in North Rhine-Westphalia.

In 2016 and 2017 he won the Open A at the Dortmund Chess Days .

Daniel Hausrath received the title of International Master in 1997. He achieved his first standard for the title of Grand Master in the 2005/06 season of the German Chess League. He reached a further standard in July 2009 at the 42nd International Chess Festival in Biel / Bienne . At the 2009 European Cup in Ohrid , he missed the last GM norm by half an Elo point. He then fulfilled the norm in August 2013 at the chess festival in Biel / Bienne, so that he was awarded the title of grandmaster in the same year. In January 2015 he is 39th in the German Elo ranking, with his highest Elo rating to date of 2540 he was Germany's strongest international champion in November 2010.

Daniel Hausrath played for SG Porz until 1995 and for PSV / BSV Wuppertal from 1995 to 1998 (in the 1995/96 and 1996/97 seasons in the 1st Bundesliga , in the 1997/98 season in the 2nd Bundesliga ) In 1998 he is a member of SV Mülheim-Nord , with whom he has played in the 1st Bundesliga since 2004. Hausrath played in the Dutch Meester class for the Ensched club ESGOO until 2005 , since then he has been registered with Schaakvereniging Voerendaal (since 2018 SV Zuid-Limburg ), with which he became Dutch team champion in 2012 . In Belgium he first played for KSK Eupen 47 , which was merged into KSK 47 Turm Eynatten in 2003 and won the Belgian team championship five times ( 2006 , 2010 , 2011 , 2014 and 2017 ). Hausrath has been playing for Schachfreunde Wirtzfeld since 2018 . In France he played for Echiquier Guingampais in the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons , in Luxembourg he played for De Sprénger Echternach from 2005 to 2008 and became champion with this in 2006 .

He took part in European Club Cups five times : in 2005 and 2009 with KSK 47 Eynatten , in 2006 with De Sprénger Echternach and in 2008 and 2014 with SV Mülheim-Nord .
