Felix Levin (born November 5, 1958 in Lviv ) is a German chess player and trainer of Ukrainian origin.
He has held the title of Grand Master since 1998 . His highest rating so far was 2564 in July 2008, which meant 15th place in the German Elo ranking. He has been playing for the German Chess Federation since 1998 . At the U20 World Cup in 2003 in Naxçıvan , he acted as coach of Leonid Kritz .
Single successes
In 1993 he finished first in a category 10 tournament in Podgorica , and in 1995 he was second behind Uwe Bönsch at the Bad Wörishofen chess festival . In 1998 Felix Levin won the international Open in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage , in 2000 he became Bremen Rapid Chess Master ( 8th Karl Michel Open ), and in 2002 he won the Gent Open. He won the international Easter chess tournament in Büdelsdorf three times in a row (2002, 2003 and 2004). In February 2003 he won the 3rd North-West Cup in Bad Zwischenahn . In February 2004 he won the 3rd International Open in Rochefort (Charente-Maritime) . He won the international Open in Condino, Italy, twice: in 2005 and 2006. In 2006, he finished second behind GM Arkadi Rotstein at the Liechtenstein Open in Triesen . In 2006 he won the Gausdal Classics B in Gausdal , in December 2006 the 22nd Post Open in Düsseldorf , in July 2007 he was first at the 27th International Open in Benasque and in December 2007 he won the 23rd Post Open in Düsseldorf.
Club teams
His first team in Germany was SG Porz . When he moved from Lviv to Germany, he played first at SF Schwerin on the top board, in the 2000/01 season he made promotion to the Bundesliga chess league on board one of the second division club Königsspringer Hamburg . He then moved to SV Werder Bremen , from 2004 to 2018 he played for SV Mülheim-Nord . He has been active for SV Lingen 1959 since 2018 (initially in the 2nd Bundesliga, in the 2019/20 season in the 1st Bundesliga).
