Andrij Maksymenko ( Ukrainian Андрій Максименко , Russian Андрей Максименко / Andrei Maksimenko ; born December 7, 1969 in Cherkassy ) is a Ukrainian chess master .

Life

Maksymenko won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 2nd place at the Lublin -B tournament (1993), 3rd place at the Catania Open in Cattolica (1994), 1st place at the tournament in Aalborg (1995), 3rd place at the BSF Tournament in Copenhagen (1995), 1st place at the tournament in Lemberg (1995), 1st place at the Schöneck -B tournament (1996), 2nd place at the 2nd Popel Memorial (1999), 1st place at the Leonid Stein Memorial- B (2000), 1st place at the Cup of Galychina in Lemberg in front of Vitali Golod and Harmen Jonkman (2001) and 2nd place at the GM tournament in Berlin behind Viktor Erdős (2009).

In 1991 he became International Master , and since 1995 he has held the title of Grand Master .

In the German Federal Chess League Maksymenko played in the 2005/06 and 2007/08 seasons for SK Zehlendorf , in the 2008/09 season for SC Kreuzberg , and since the 2010/11 season he has been playing for Schachfreunde Berlin . In the 1990s he played for the Berlin club Schwarz-Weiß Lichtenrade, with whom he won the Berlin Cup team championship in 1997 on the top board and played in the 2nd Bundesliga North in the 1998/99 season . In the Austrian Bundesliga he has been playing for ASVÖ Wulkaprodersdorf since the 2011/12 season . In the Ukrainian team championship he finished second in 2002 with the team from Carpathia-Galicia Lviv , with which he also took part in the European Club Cup in the same year . In the Polish Ekstraliga he has played for the ŻTMS Baszta Żnin since 2012 , in the Czech Extraliga he played for ŠK Sokol Vyšehrad in the 2003/04 season , in the Bosnian Premijer Liga in 2003 for the ŠK Napredak Bugojno and in the Slovak Extraliga during the season 1994/95 for the master 1.ŠK Rimavská Sobota .
