German Chess League 2007/08

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2007/08 season of the German Federal Chess League was won by the OSC Baden-Baden . The SG Turm Trier 1877 , the Erfurter SK , the SK Zehlendorf and the Godesberger SK were newly promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . Of these, only Trier could hold the class; the TSV Bindlach shareholder voluntarily withdrew from the first division after the season. Since the top three relegated teams decided not to stay in the Bundesliga after Bindlach had withdrawn, the last-placed SC Kreuzberg was spared relegation.

Baden-Baden became German champions for the third time in a row. The club did not lose a single match and only drew once (against SV Mülheim-Nord ). For the reported team squads of the participating clubs, see the team squad of the German Federal Chess League 2007/08 .
